WHO WE ARE:

A non-denominational team of compassionate Christians who believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and whose mission is to reveal the love of God through faithful service and stewardship to people in need throughout the world.

WHAT WE DO:

Through fundraisers, we support sustainable projects designed to serve the poor and needy in the world. Currently, we are sponsoring a “God’s Faithful Servants” fundraiser, in support of the American Wheelchair Mission, to raise $21,000, which will be matched by the American Wheelchair Mission to deliver a container of 280 wheelchairs for children and adults in Mexico who cannot afford one. We hope to have the goal completed in the year 2022. Once our goal is met, we will ask interested donors to consider joining us as we travel with the American Wheelchair Mission team to answer prayers in Mexico.

WHERE WE ARE LOCATED:

We are located in SE Kansas – “small town America.” The core members consist of devoted Christians, farmers, ranchers, retirees, and hard-working men and women in local businesses.

WHEN WE STARTED:

In April of 2018, founders Kurt & Kate Long made their first “Faithful Servants Fundraiser” presentation to the United Methodist Women’s Spring Conference in Edna, Kansas. They shared their passion for the missions they have participated in with the American Wheelchair Mission delivering wheelchairs and answering the prayers of the poor and needy children and adults in Mexico.

WHY WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT HELPING THE NEEDY:

Mexico is only one of the countries with a tremendous need for mobility, and mobility is only one of the tremendous needs of the poor in our world. The American Wheelchair Mission serves countries all over the world. After participating in their first wheelchair mission to Acapulco, Kurt & Kate began feeling God’s call for them to serve the needy through the wheelchair mission.

Seeing the gratitude in the faces of the Mexican people – the tears of joy and the warm hugs in response to the freedom from carrying their loved ones around or watching them lay while the world went by without them, was enough to keep the Longs going back again and again. You don’t have to speak the language to know exactly what is being said. “Dios te bendiga,” (God bless you) is all you need to know.

Kurt & Kate have successfully raised funds for a container of wheelchairs before, and now wish to do so in their Christian community. They have also delivered polio drops to children in India and have organized fundraisers raising over $5,000 in the small town of Coffeyville, Kansas, for that cause. “God is leading us to serve the needy, and we have seen first-hand the needs of the people in the world. The American Wheelchair Mission is currently our focus.” (Kurt Long, 2018)

“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’ (Matthew 25:40)
